How it all began....

So how'd it all begin?
Well it all began in the spring of 2002. Sometime in April it seemed everyone at the forum I frequented had a fish website for everyone to visit, but I didn't. So I figured I would create just about the best website about Bettas & Italy on the web. I don't know if that is a claim I can make but it is at least cool! The site was published around May 10th 2002. I told everyone at the forum to "Check it out" & the first day the hit counter shot up to about 50! By the end of the first week I (if memory serves me right) was almost up to about 200. I spent time promoting my site in free search engine submissions & guest books. I believe that some of the folks from Betta Starz forum still visit my site often. The forum @ Betta Starz & Betta Starz is no longer. It saddens me, so much fun was had, so many memories made-but I suppose all good things come to an end, but it is still sad. Seems everytime Amore was having a phsyco spell the people at the forum would help me through it & Amore always pulled through. They are, in large part, why Amore made it to 2 years old, I believe I would have killed him earlier had it not been for their helping hands.
Original Features:
Almost all my pages are original, I wanted a site that I wouldn't have to keep up, but I am a webie & all that quickly changed. I couldn't turn down putting features like Betta News & "Your Daily Luagh with D'amour" up. The betta news actually evolved from, everytime a betta would pass I would put a rememberence belowe all the pix & eventually, for no apparent reason, it evolved into a monthly ritual to update all my visitors on the past month's happenings in the fish world & beyond. All of you read about the birth of T-bolt & Gabby. All the failed spawn attempts, everytime I had more baby guppies-everything. So, now it almost feels like an original feature. Betta Art was never there & neither were the tributes to Amore & Brochetta. Ver-mea really deserves a page of her own, but I don't have enough pictures of her-I will have to do something different.
At one time I even had a Forum & Guest book, they were taken off as they weren't as big a hit as the rest of the site. Bettas & Italy has had so many design changes I can't even remember them all, but when I landed on the current design, I knew I had to leave it for good. This design just says "Bettas & Italy" on it. The site has always been darker, it was usually Black & Blue or green & blue, or sometime both-black has always been envolved somehow.
So now I will answere the question probably every visitor rather they be return or first time: Who is D'amour?
Well my first name is Sarah, I have a bunch of other things I love to do & a few of them are: Watch NASCAR, I go for #26. I train llamas. I like Corgi dogs. I love to knit, I have tought myself how to do really extreme nail painting. I love horses & you will find a picture of me belowe. I am sure you have all been curiuos as to who I am & what I look like. So you got the run down! Happy? Feel let in on the secret yet?LOL
